Bonwit Teller & Co. was once a fashionable department store chain and the exterior of this Philadelphia branch was used in Rocky II as the store where Rocky purchases his black Tiger jacket and a fur coat for Adrian.
In 2000, Bonwit Teller & Co. went out of business for good, but its building and surroundings are still standing and looking similar.
This busy street corner is just a few blocks away from the instantly-recognizable Philadelphia City Hall, visible in shots of Rocky’s morning runs; Rittenhouse Square, the park where Rocky and Adrian stroll; and Robert Balboa’s apartment house seen in Rocky Balboa.
