About the Movie
The Legend Becomes Stronger. The Legacy Continues.
Creed II continues the story of Adonis Creed, but this time, it’s not just about proving himself—it’s about facing the ghosts of the past. The eighth film in the Rocky saga, this sequel pulls directly from Rocky IV, bringing back one of the most infamous opponents in the franchise’s history: Ivan Drago.
Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote the screenplay, made sure that Creed II stayed truer to the themes that made Rocky great—legacy, redemption, and the consequences of the past. While he once again takes a backseat as a mentor, his presence as Rocky Balboa is still the emotional anchor of the film.
This time, Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) must defend his title against Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago, the man who killed Apollo Creed in the ring. For Adonis, this fight isn’t just about boxing—it’s about avenging his father’s death and proving that he’s more than just his last name. For Rocky, it’s a reminder of the battle that changed his life forever, forcing him to confront his own history with the Dragos.
With Dolph Lundgren returning as Ivan Drago and Florian Munteanu as Viktor, Creed II brings back the Rocky franchise’s Cold War-era tensions in a new, personal way. But at its core, it’s still about the mentor-student bond between Rocky and Adonis, and the battles that define who we are.
Though Creed II marked Stallone’s final appearance as Rocky, it serves as a fitting sendoff—honoring the legacy he built while passing the gloves to the next generation.
