“Take You Back”
When Apollo Creed flies Rocky, Adrian and Paulie back to his hometown of Los Angeles, we’re introduced to downtown L.A. with a montage of some of the grungier spots along Skid Row, as Frank Stallone sings a new version of “Take You Back”.
The King Edward Hotel can be seen immediately following the view of The Rosslyn Hotel in Rocky III, another historic spot in this seedy district.
While it was for many years an historic hotel, in 2018 the AIDS Healthcare Foundation purchased the property and refashioned it into affordable housing for low-income and homeless people of Los Angeles.
Today, the frontage looks pretty much the same as it did in Rocky III.
